About the In-Person Workshop

Managing risk is a critical part of operating a successful agritourism business. Designed for service providers and support professionals who work with farms, this workshop explores key risk management considerations that can affect agritourism operations. Topics include zoning and land use issues, liability and labor considerations, neighbor relations, accessibility and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, and the Pennsylvania Agritourism Act. Participants will also learn how the Pennsylvania Agricultural Mediation Program can help address disputes and foster positive outcomes for farms and communities. In addition, the program examines the effective and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in agritourism marketing and communications.

Lunch, catered by Panera, will be provided. This workshop is presented in partnership with Penn State Extension, West Virginia University, and Cultivating Tourism, with support from grant funding provided by West Virginia University.
