Designed for anyone eager to deepen their understanding of agricultural conservation, the new Ag Conservation Story activity at the Pennsylvania Farm Show offers an engaging, interactive way to explore the challenges and solutions shaping our soil and water. Participants will learn firsthand by visiting partner organizations, collecting story cards, and discovering the tools and resources that support healthy, sustainable farms across the Commonwealth.

The journey begins at Farm Show booth 2516, located inside the Giant Exposition Hall, where participants can pick up their Ag Conservation Story board and first story card. From there, participants follow a series of featured stops hosted by Partners in Ag Conservation Excellence (PACE) - Penn State Extension's Center for Ag Conservation Assistance Training, the PA State Conservation Commission, and USDA NRCS. Each stop highlights a different chapter of Pennsylvania's Ag Conservation Story from understanding the land itself, to the challenges it faces, the conservation practices that make a difference, and the outcomes these efforts create.

As participants visit the highlighted stations, they'll collect story cards that build a complete picture of how conservation works on Pennsylvania’s farms. Exhibits include opportunities to explore property scenarios, identify resource concerns, take virtual stream tours, map conservation practices with GIS tools, and connect with experts who support planning and funding for Best Management Practices (BMPs).

To complete the activity and receive a small prize, participants must finish their board by collecting four story cards and engaging with each exhibit. Once their collection is complete, they can return to booth 2516 to receive their prize and continue the conversation about how they can build their own Ag Conservation Story.
