Technical information about a tree's growth requirements, hardiness to winter conditions, tolerances to various environmental factors, susceptibility to pests and diseases, advantages in certain urban environments, and size and form at maturity is needed before selecting a tree for an urban or suburban landscape. Landscape Tree Factsheets provides information about over 200 cultivars of trees that are suitable for use as street trees, evergreen screens, or other landscape settings.

For the past 30 years, Landscape Tree Factsheets has been the premier book that has assisted municipal tree commissioners, landscape architects, arborists, and urban foresters in selecting trees that require the most careful selection in relation to stressful sites, space constraints, and tree care practices. Advice on analyzing tree planting sites and matching the right tree in the right place, including utility-compatible plantings and proper planting technique, is detailed in the book.

Each Factsheet focuses on a tree species and cultivar of that species, detailing its mature height, width, foliage, flowers, fruit, advantages, limitations, site and culture, with numerous pictures provided on the back of each factsheet.
