Lancaster County Community Gardens and Adopt-A-Pantry Program
What is the Adopt-a-Pantry Program?
Lancaster County Master Gardeners partner with Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to connect community gardens with food pantries. All Lancaster County community members are invited to become 'Sow & Share Gardeners' and volunteer to grow extra vegetables, herbs, and fruits specifically for any of the participating pantries. We welcome new and experienced gardeners, and master gardeners will help answer questions throughout the growing season.

This directory lists all of the community gardens that have a relationship with the Master Gardeners of Lancaster County. It also lists all of the pantries in Lancaster County which accept food from these gardens.

Donegal Presbyterian Church and Mount Joy Mennonite Church also have gardens that grow food for Friends of Donegal, a pantry listed below. However, these gardens are not listed in the directory, as they do not have plots open to the public to grow food for themselves as well.
The East Lampeter Community Garden donates excess produce to Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services, the Church of the Apostles donates excess produce to the Hempfield Area Food Pantry, and St. Luke Episcopal Church donates to Mount Joy Food Bank. These three pantries are not affiliated with the Adopt-a-Pantry program.
