Have you ever gone outside, and the grandchildren follow you out to see what you are going to do? A fun family activity is working on a flower or vegetable garden. Families can experience the science of how food grows and then becomes part of their next meal. Children learn the responsibility of caring for living things, enjoy the sunshine and physical activity, and have a stress-free opportunity to talk about what is happening in their life as they work side by side.
Gardening is Fun (Families Uniting Now) is a program offered by Kinorea Tigri, Master Gardener Coordinator of Crawford and Mercer Counties in Pennsylvania.
Kinship care is a term used for individuals raising children by grandparents, other extended family members, and adults with whom they have a close family-like relationship such as godparents and close family friends because biological parents are unable to do so for whatever reason.
This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
