    About Me

    Karen is a food, families and health extension educator in Lackawanna County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics education and a master’s degree in food science from Penn State University.

    Her primary focus is implementing evidence based prevention programs in Lackawanna County School Districts using the PROmoting School-community-university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience (PROSPER) model, and strength training and nutrition programs for older adults. She also provides support for the Lackawanna County 4-H youth development program and serves as the PROSPER state extension team co-leader.
