Julie began her 4-H "career" as a member in Perry County, Pennsylvania from the age of 8-18. In addition to community club projects, she was a member of the Perry County 4-H Livestock Club and Juniata County 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Club (Julie continues to raise Seeing Eye puppies as an adult). Between 4-H and her involvement with FFA, Julie has had a wide variety of animal-based projects including market beef, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, dairy, and dairy goats. Julie graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and returned to Penn State for post-grad work in Ag Extension and Education where she received her teaching certificate. Julie has taught a variety of science and agricultural courses in both public and private schools, worked for county conservation districts and the PA Game Commission, and most recently was involved with her husband’s tree care company based in Lebanon County and continues to work alongside him (she is also an ISA Certified Arborist®: PD-2845A). Julie is thankful for the opportunity to work with 4-H members and volunteers to continue to bring a quality 4-H program to the youth of Lebanon County.
