From 1987 to 1994 he worked in private industry for both Weeds, Inc. and The Greenway Group. Weeds, Inc. provides industrial weed control services throughout much of the eastern U.S. The Greenway Group provided turfgrass and vegetation management services for commercial accounts in the tri-state area. In 1994 he returned to The Pennsylvania State University to work with Pennsylvania's Roadside Research Project.
