The USDA and FDA recommend rubbing firm fruits and vegetables such as melons briskly with your hands or a produce brush while rinsing them under cold, clean water for a few minutes as an effective way to clean them.
Remember to store perishable produce in the refrigerator at 40°F or below.
Refrigerate all cut produce within two hours.
