About The In-Person Workshop
Discover the science behind making and preserving jams and jellies safely at home through this interactive, hands-on training. Participants will actively take part in the canning process while learning the scientific principles that support current recommendations for preparing and processing jams and jellies. The workshop will cover safe preservation practices, water bath and atmospheric steam canning methods, ingredient functions, pectin options, and recipes for reduced-sugar and no-sugar-added products. Along the way, participants will explore common food preservation myths and outdated techniques, gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to produce safe, high-quality preserved foods at home. As part of the Home Food Preservation series, this training provides the research-based information and practical experience needed for successful home food preservation.
