About The In-Person Workshop
Join the Penn State Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for the Gardening with Nature series. The first program begins with a welcome introduction on dividing perennials, followed by "Fun (and a Few Headaches!) with Tree Fruit at Home," presented by Dr. Daniel Weber, Penn State Extension tree fruit educator. Few things bring greater satisfaction than enjoying fruit picked fresh from your own garden. With Cumberland County's favorable growing conditions for apples, peaches, and other tree fruits, you can cultivate a small orchard in your yard—or even in a large container. Learn how to select varieties suited to your tastes, avoid common challenges, and care for trees to ensure productive harvests for years to come. Apples, peaches, and one of three mystery fruit options—revealed that evening—will be featured.
