About The In-Person Workshop

Explore sustainable gardening practices with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of York County. This tour features ten diverse gardens—home and public landscapes—highlighting native plants, wildlife-friendly practices, shade and vegetable gardens, and innovative horticultural techniques. Master Gardener volunteers will share information about the practices used at each site. The tour begins at the Penn State Demonstration Gardens at John Rudy Park, where participants will receive a brochure and garden addresses before traveling to sites at their own pace. Participants will gain practical ideas and strategies to support sustainable gardening at home.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation between garden sites.

Nonperishable food donations will be collected for the York County Food Bank from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at John Rudy Park, garden tour check-in at the Demonstration Gardens. Individuals who wish to contribute may bring a nonperishable food item in support of the food bank's efforts to increase food access in York County.

Registering before the event is encouraged and appreciated!
