About the In-Person Workshop
"Food Safety Modernization Act: Produce Grower Certification Training" is designed for Pennsylvania fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and the co-management of natural resources and food safety. The Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Grower Training Course provides one way to satisfy the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement (§112.22.c). Participants will explore key FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements within each module while also learning best practices for produce safety. The training includes time for questions and discussions, encouraging attendees to share their experiences and produce safety concerns.
After completing the entire course, participants will be eligible to receive a certificate from the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO), verifying their completion of the training. To obtain an AFDO certificate, participants must attend the full training and submit the required paperwork to their trainer at the course’s conclusion.
