About The Live Webinar
Beech trees (Fagus spp.) play vital ecological and economic roles across the globe, yet their future is increasingly at risk from beech leaf disease, a damaging condition caused by the novel nematode Litylenchus crenatae ssp. mccannii. Now present in 15 states and Ontario, this emerging threat has the potential to affect beech populations worldwide. During this program, participants will learn how to identify beech leaf disease, understand its causes, and explore the significant challenges it poses to forests and urban trees. Dr. Mihail Kantor and Dr. Erika Consoli will also share new discoveries and recent research developments that shed light on this rapidly evolving issue.
