Both grain yield and grain quality losses can be observed when Fusarium head blight is severe. Quality losses include lower test weight and contamination of grain by mycotoxins [e.g., deoxynivalenol (DON or vomitoxin)] that are produced by the Fusarium head blight fungus (Fusarium graminearum).
