Pennsylvania farmers and distributors have been increasingly selling products to schools, but there is still plenty of room to grow. This on-farm meeting aims to connect child nutrition program professionals (schools, preschools, summer programs, etc.) and fruit and vegetable farmers and distributors. Hear directly from those with existing successful business relationships and those looking to get started or expand.

This event will be planned by The Food Trust and Penn State Extension and hosted by Frecon Farms. Light refreshments will be provided, including fresh from the farm apples and cider. For school food service directors, participation will count towards Professional Standards and be in tracked in Primero Edge by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Who is this for?
  • Those who make purchasing decisions for child nutrition programs
  • Fruit and vegetable farmers
  • Produce distributors.
What will you learn?
  • Increased knowledge of the school food market for farmers and distributors.
  • Increased knowledge around how and where to buy Pennsylvania products for child nutrition program professionals.
