About The In-Person Workshop

Designed specifically for first responders, this hands-on training builds safety and preparedness for farm-related emergencies through interactive learning and real-world application. Participants will explore hazardous materials commonly found on farms, understand animal behavior during emergencies, and practice strategies to reduce risk in agricultural settings. The program also addresses biosecurity protocols, gear decontamination, and tools commonly carried on emergency rigs. The day concludes with a guided farm visit, where participants will apply concepts through livestock handling and identifying potential vulnerabilities within agricultural operations.

Participants will start the day at the Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services before traveling to WenCrest Farms, 549 Schaeffer Road, Lebanon, PA, for the farm visit.

This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
