Extension Water Team Welcomes New Educator Based in York County

Jodi began her work with Extension part-time in 2015 and successfully launched and coordinated the Master Watershed Steward Program in York County. After coordinating two Master Watershed Steward Trainings, she and 36 Master Watershed Stewards are educating citizens about water resources and have planned and completed several successful watershed projects throughout the county.

Jodi grew up in Juniata County roaming the fields, forests and streams of her grandparent’s farm in the Licking Creek Valley. This laid the foundation for her desire to teach others to protect and preserve the natural world. She attended Penn State University and obtained a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management with a focus on water resources. After graduating, she worked as a Naturalist for the York County Parks and later for Manheim Township in Lancaster County. Through her work experience as a Naturalist, she has acquired a strong background in natural history and current environmental issues, including watershed education. Jodi has developed and taught many watershed and natural history programs to all ages and backgrounds in both traditional and non-traditional settings. She looks forward to joining the Extension Water Resources Team and is excited to teach York County residents about stormwater, drinking water safety, and watershed management. She will also continue her efforts coordinating the Master Watershed Steward Program and will begin coordinating the Gypsy Moth Program in York as well.

Jodi can be reached at the Penn State Extension, York County Office at 112 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17402. Email: Phone: 717-840-7408
