    About Me

Emily is a poultry extension educator based in Mifflin and Juniata counties. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Poultry Science from the University of Arkansas. Prior to joining the Penn State family, Emily worked in the poultry industry in Springdale, Arkansas in hatcheries and broiler breeder operations.

She believes poultry producers worldwide should have access to science-based resources and technical support whether they have 1 bird or 1 million. Her program focuses are small flocks, avian health and bio-security, and broiler breeder and hatchery management.

Emily has been involved in exhibition poultry with her father since the age of three. She has competed in and judged shows from Massachusetts to California. Emily’s passion is serving as a liaison to small flock owners and commercial industry partners to promote safe and healthy birds for all.

She serves as a judge for market bird and showmanship competitions across the country and provides support to the Pennsylvania Game Breeders Association. She is an alumnae of Sigma Alpha Sorority and a life member of the American Bantam Association.
