About the In-Person Workshop

Shake off winter and step into spring at our Open House at the Donora Demonstration Gardens! Wander the gardens as they wake up for the season, discover what’s beginning to bloom, and enjoy a relaxed, come-and-go atmosphere. Chat with Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Washington County, get answers to your gardening questions, and pick up practical, research-based tips you can use right at home. Come as you are—gardeners, neighbors, families, and friends alike—and enjoy a welcoming space to connect, learn, and find inspiration together.

Master Gardeners will be available throughout the gardens to discuss:

  • Native plants and pollinators
  • Vegetable and herb gardening
  • Sustainable landscape practices
  • Soil health and seasonal maintenance
  • Creative design ideas for home landscapes

This is an outdoor event; please dress comfortably and be prepared for the weather. Wear appropriate footwear for walking on grass and garden paths. In the event of rain, activities will continue unless severe weather occurs.
