The 2018 Penn State Dairy Nutrition Workshop will be held Wednesday, October 31 through Thursday, November 1 at the Red Lion in Harrisburg, Pa. This workshop provides applied dairy nutrition information and training to feed industry professionals. The October 31 preconference will be sponsored by Balchem Corporation and will focus on effectively managing low protein diets. The general session on November 1 will take a look into the future, including the cow herself, the industry, and the financial strategies that will help dairy businesses thrive. Breakout sessions over the two-day event will explore these subjects and more, with a wide variety of topics from transition cow health and nutrition to in-depth discussions of starch and fiber digestibility, precision dairy systems, utilizing small grain forages, mycotoxins, improving communication skills, and much more.
Diamond V will sponsor an evening session and ice cream social on Wednesday focused on milk fat depression and effects of Nutritek on the innate immune system. On Thursday morning Chr. Hansen will sponsor a breakfast session with discussion of how probiotics work. A post conference sponsored by Alforex Seeds will explore management and utilization of alfalfa with improved fiber digestibility. In addition to the educational sessions, we offer a trade show featuring approximately 60 companies that serve the nutrition industry.
There is something for everyone and plenty of opportunity for you to personalize your agenda to match your interests. You can review the complete agenda on the "full conference agenda" tab.
