About The In-Person Workshop
Learn how to transform kitchen scraps and yard waste into nutrient-rich compost for your garden. Join the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners for a hands-on program that demonstrates how everyday organic materials can be recycled into a valuable soil amendment. Designed for gardeners of all experience levels and anyone interested in reducing household waste, this session covers the essential ingredients, methods, and management practices for successful composting. Participants will gain practical knowledge to improve vegetable beds, flower gardens, lawns, and houseplants while reducing landfill waste and supporting sustainable practices in Somerset County. Participants will receive a free compost bin with registration, while supplies last.
