Composting is nature's original recycling program. Reduce household waste by up to 50% and create healthy soil by making and using compost. Instead of throwing away yard waste and kitchen scraps, make it work for you. Learn how easy it is to pile up your grass clippings, leaves, old plants, egg shells, fruit and vegetable peelings, and create a useful garden amendment.

Lycoming County Master Gardeners invite you to join the composting workshop to learn about the benefits of composting, as well as how and what to compost to ensure success. Participants will be able to see a working 3 bin system made from wood pallets. Handouts on what kinds of waste can be composted, along with composting dos and don’ts will be provided. Come and learn about vermicomposting as well – worms helping to break down your kitchen waste!
