Chandlar Kern, Ph.D.

Dr. Chandlar Kern is a Livestock Educator with Penn State Extension serving York County and supporting beef cattle producers across Pennsylvania. Her educational programs focus on beef cattle management, reproduction, and herd health. She works with producers to provide practical, research-based information that improves animal performance, welfare, and farm profitability.

Chandlar earned her bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in Animal Science from The Pennsylvania State University. Her graduate research focused on bovine reproduction and fertility. Her background combines academic research with hands-on experience in the beef industry.

Raised on a commercial cow-calf operation and actively involved in her family's beef cattle operation, Chandlar understands the opportunities and challenges facing today's producers. She works closely with farmers, agricultural organizations, and industry partners to deliver educational programs, workshops, and on-farm demonstrations that help producers adopt practical management strategies and make informed decisions for their operations.
