Brooke Meets a Stream Doctor 360 Video and Curriculum Guide
Brooke Meets a Stream Doctor Video
Learners can explore our interactive 360° Stream Video, which gives students the opportunity to experience a stream environment without ever leaving the classroom. It can be used as preparation before a field trip or as a full virtual stream experience when visiting an actual stream isn’t possible. For an even deeper sense of immersion, the video can be viewed using VR headsets when available.
As students move through the experience, encourage them to practice visual stream assessment skills by observing stream features, habitat conditions, water movement, and indicators of stream health—just like a real Stream Doctor.
Instructions for using the 360° Stream Video:
- Open the video using a computer, tablet, smartphone, or VR headset.
- Click and drag the screen (or move your device/headset) to look around the stream environment in all directions.
- Pause the video as needed to discuss observations or complete activities from the book.
- Encourage learners to identify stream characteristics, wildlife habitat, erosion, vegetation, and indicators of healthy or unhealthy water systems.
- Use the video alongside the story and guide activities to support discussion, journaling, and stream investigation practice.
