Angela Breneman
Extension Educator, Dairy
Angela is a graduate of Delaware Valley University, class of 2012. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Livestock Science and Management. She has spent the last decade helping dairy producers become more sustainable and profitable in their business as a dairy and livestock nutritionist. She now works for the Penn State Extension, serving as the dairy educator for Lancaster County, where she plans to continue helping dairy producers thrive in their business..


Ginger Fenton
Extension Educator, Dairy
Ginger holds a B.S. in Environmental Science/Biology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Food Science and Ph.D. in Pathobiology, both from Penn State University. Her programs focus on milk quality and food safety from the farm to the processor. She offers programs to improve milk quality on the farm and increase profitability of farms including on-farm culturing, mastitis management, raw milk impacts on finished product quality, and value-added dairy. Her other areas of interest include farm safety and occupational health and working with women on farms. Ginger also works with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) for animal food processors and dairy food processors by offering Preventive Controls for Qualified Individual courses for animal food and human food.


Emily Fread
Extension Educator, Dairy
Emily grew up in North Carolina and received her B. S. in Animal Science from North Carolina State University. She received her M. S. in Animal Science from the W. H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute in conjunction with the University of Vermont. Located in the North Country of New York, Miner Institute strives to provide dairy farmers locally and nationally with valuable production-based research. During her time at Miner Institute, Emily conducted research regarding heat stress in dry cows and their calves in the Northeast.


Kassandra "Kasey" Hower
Extension Educator, Dairy
Originally from a family dairy farm, Kasey has been involved in the dairy industry her whole life. Her family milked 80 head of Holstein cattle in a tie stall facility and while growing up Kasey was involved in 4-H, showing heifers and dairy beef at the county, district, and state levels. She continued her education by attending the University of Delaware for her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Animal Science. During her master’s program, Kasey worked under Dr. Limin Kung studying various corn hybrids and additives for silage. Kasey is no stranger to extension as after graduate school, she worked out of the Schuylkill County Extension Office as a 4-H Program Assistant. For the past 3 years, she has traveled throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York selling liquid feeds to dairy and beef operations. She is excited to join the extension team once again and work more closely with our local dairy producers to help them assess their feeding programs and forages.


James Lawhead
Extension Associate, Dairy Science
Jim graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Following graduation, he joined Millerstown Veterinary Associates. In private practice, about 70 percent of his work was with dairy cattle. Jim has always had a strong interest in nutrition and dairy herd management. His goal in working with farmers was to find ways of increasing productivity and more important profitability. He has always enjoyed educating dairy farmers in a one-on-one role and now hopes to expand the scope of his teaching with his work in Extension.


Daniela Roland
Extension Educator, Dairy
Daniela Roland is the Dairy Educator in Franklin County. Daniela has over twenty years of experience working with farmers in the dairy industry. She previously worked as the Manager of Member Communications at Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association (MDVA). During her time at MDVA, she was also a certified FARM Evaluator and performed Animal Care and Environmental Stewardship evaluations on dairy farms. Daniela and her husband formerly owned and operated a small dairy farm, and a small beef operation on a rented 140-acre farm. She has a B.S. degree in Animal Science from the University of Maryland.
