Among the myriad of things that need to be attended to in the spring are new plantings and among them are seeding winter loafing areas in pastures and sacrifice lots. It's a best management practice to keep sacrifice lots covered to prevent nutrient leaching and soil erosion, but more important, it's a great opportunity to get ahead of weeds and get some renovation done.
Before it gets too late, seed your sacrifice areas to beat the weeds!
