Purpose of the award is to recognize an individual or an organization/group for their support of and enthusiasm for Natural Resources Extension Education at the county, regional, or state level in Pennsylvania. (This type of award is sometimes referred to as a “Friend of award” to honor an individual or an organization.)


Individual awardees cannot be a member of the state or national ANREP organization. However, they should be someone who has made significant impacts to further natural resources education. They can be a member of any other Extension professional organization, a natural resources professional, administrator, educator or citizen volunteer. Organizational awardees can be any appropriate agency, group, family, or association, excluding any of the Extension professional associations. Ideally, they should be characterized by having a group of individuals (2 or more), that collectively have made significant impacts in furthering natural resources education through Extension education programs.

Letter of nomination should include how the nominee meets each of the following:

  • Positive impact on Natural Resources Education in Pennsylvania
  • Extension program involvement
  • Relationship with Extension professionals (including Extension Educators, PA Sea Grant, Extension Specialists etc.)
