Meet the Hosts
Dr. Adrian Barragan is an Associate Research Professor and Extension veterinarian within the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at Penn State. He is originally from Argentina, where he completed his DVM degree. He came to the U.S. in 2012 to pursue graduate studies at The Ohio State University. He started his current position at Penn State in August 2017. His research and Extension work focuses on disease prevention strategies aimed at identifying high-risk cow groups and developing applied disease-preventative practices.
Raul Sorto is a PhD student in Dr. Barragan’s lab. He is originally from Honduras, where he completed his Animal Science Bachelor. His research focus is on uncovering physiological patterns in prepartum dairy cows and identifying best anti-inflammatory practices to improve cow and calf health and performance.
