About the In-Person Workshop

Participants at the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association (PWDA) Annual Workforce Conference in Hershey are invited to take part in an engaging agricultural tour featuring Stoney Lawn Dairy Farm and the Milton Hershey School Project Market. Attendees will travel together aboard the Yokl Trolley, a cozy, vintage-style trolley designed for small group experiences, with transportation provided to and from each location. Along the way, participants will receive an overview of Pennsylvania’s dairy industry and the AgWorks project, enjoy light snacks during the journey, tour the working dairy farm, and visit the farm store at Milton Hershey School. This experience offers a unique opportunity to connect workforce development with firsthand insight into local agriculture and food systems.

For coordination and biosecurity purposes, participants should not travel directly to the farm. The tour will be conducted on an active dairy farm, so appropriate clothing and closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. Transportation to the farm will be coordinated on site at the Expo Hall location.

This workshop is open to everyone at no cost, thanks to an AgWorks grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. To help track grant reach and eligibility, participants will be asked questions about their farm or agribusiness during registration. Responses will remain confidential and will not be shared outside the project team.

As part of the AgWorks grant initiative, no-cost training and consultation services are available to qualifying small- to medium-sized farms and agribusinesses in Pennsylvania. For more information, visit AgWorks.

This event is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry through funding from the U.S. Department of Labor.

This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
