About the In-Person Workshop
Workforce professionals in Pennsylvania's Northern Tier are invited to attend an on-the-farm learning event to gain firsthand insight into the needs and operations of local agricultural businesses. Participants will meet at East Point United Methodist Church and travel together by carpool to Remley Hog and Beef Farm for a guided tour of the operation, including an overview of farm systems and a methane digester. Following the tour, the group will return to the church for lunch and a panel discussion with regional agribusiness leaders, followed by a question-and-answer session.Â
For coordination and biosecurity purposes, participants should not travel directly to the farm. Please dress for the weather and for walking on uneven or potentially muddy ground. Transportation to the farm will be coordinated on site at the church meeting location.
This workshop is open to everyone at no cost, thanks to an AgWorks grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. To help track grant reach and eligibility, participants will be asked questions about their farm or agribusiness during registration. Responses will remain confidential and will not be shared outside the project team.Â
As part of the AgWorks grant initiative, no-cost training and consultation services are available to qualifying small- to medium-sized farms and agribusinesses in Pennsylvania. For more information, visit AgWorks.Â
This event is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry through funding from the U.S. Department of Labor.
This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
