Webinar Series Overviews

Hiring, Retention, and Human Resources (HR)

This series of 25 webinars will cover what you need to know to build and foster your workforce. Webinars are designed for professionals who want to strengthen their leadership strategies (HRL series), build stronger workplace relationships, and gain confidence in managing people. Sessions will explore practical leadership approaches, essential interpersonal skills, and key human resources practices for small organizations. Participants will learn how to foster positive team culture, communicate effectively, navigate conflict, and confidently handle everyday HR responsibilities.

Agricultural Law (AL)

As part of the AgWorks program, the Center for Agricultural and Shale Law is offering a series of over 20 monthly webinars on the most important laws related to agricultural jobs and employment. These webinars are made to be easy to understand, aimed at everyday people, not lawyers. In addition, there will be plenty of time for Q&A with the Center's legal experts so producers can get the best help for their needs. A producer's manual on employment law and compliance for agriculture will be part of the project and available in 2026.

Center programs are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and supported by a multi-year grant from the United States Department of Agriculture. The Center provides educational information and programming via in-person presentations and speaking engagements, live and recorded webinars, and various publication formats on its website

Business and Compensation (BC)

This workshop series provides practical guidance on the core administrative responsibilities every organization must manage. Topics include taxes, insurance, record keeping, retirement, and employee benefits. Participants will learn strategies to remain compliant, safeguard their operations, and support long-term growth. Designed for business owners, managers, and HR professionals, the series offers clear, actionable knowledge to strengthen organizational stability and efficiency.

Health and Safety (HS)

This series of workshops and webinars is designed to help farm owners, managers, and workers create safer, more resilient operations. Participants will gain practical strategies for preventing accidents, reducing risks, and preparing for emergencies in agricultural settings. The sessions focus on building straightforward, effective safety plans, strengthening awareness of common hazards, and ensuring that everyone on the farm is equipped with the knowledge and tools to respond appropriately in critical situations. Emphasizing prevention, preparedness, and safe work practices, this series provides essential training to protect both people and property.
