Held rain or shine, the plant sale will take place at the 4-H Center, 1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville, PA 19426. Proceeds support Master Gardeners' efforts to promote horticulture, sustainable landscapes, and healthy lifestyles in the Montgomery County community.
The Master Gardener plant sale is a great event for residents who not only want plants to start or improve their garden, but also the guidance to do it well. Master Gardeners will be present to answer gardening questions, provide information on what plants are best for your site, and troubleshoot home garden, lawn, tree and shrub problems.
The plant sale features over 5,000 annuals, perennials, and woodies with specialties in herbs and vegetables, native plants, berries, water plants and Master Gardener-grown plants. There will be garden crafts, children’s activities, and the popular “Garden Shed” showcasing gently used outdoor gardening items for sale. There will also be a homeowner learning booth, including tips on Spotted Lanternfly, how to have your soil tested by Penn State, and other useful information. Purchases can be paid for by check, cash or credit card.Visitors are also welcome to tour the Master Gardeners’ demonstration gardens on site.
The Penn State Extension Montgomery County Master Gardener program seeks to educate community residents on horticultural matters; answer questions regarding plant problems around the home; support community gardens for towns and schools, and has a speaker’s bureau to provide horticultural education to interested community groups in Montgomery County. The Master Gardener Hotline is also available from the first of April through the end of October weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM by calling 610-489-4315, or by visiting the Montgomery County Master Gardener office in the Penn State Extension office at 1015 Bridge Road in Collegeville.
