PROSPER Welcomes the Riverside School District
Posted: February 2, 2016
The Riverside School District in Lackawanna County is no stranger to the PROmoting School-community-university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience (PROSPER) project. They served as a control school for the PROSPER research project which meant their students were surveyed, but did not receive PROSPER’s evidence based prevention programs.
This summer a PROSPER team was formed in the district and they began implementing The Strengthening Families Program: for Parents and Youth 10-14 this fall. Eight families successfully completed the program by attending 4 out of 7 sessions.
A winter session is currently running. Twelve families are attending. The team also hopes to offer another program this spring to continue the momentum.
Thanks to the Riverside School District for such an enthusiastic response! We appreciate their support and look forward to a strong partnership.
