Newberry Twp. and Goldsboro Borough Illegal Dumpsite Cleanups Scheduled

Cleanup funding and resources being provided by Newberry Township, York County Solid Waste Authority, York County Commissioners, Penn State Extension-York County West Nile Virus Program and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. The event will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2011, from 8AM to 3PM. Volunteer help is needed and greatly appreciated. All volunteers should dress for safety by wearing long pants/shirts and sturdy shoes. Youth Volunteers ages 12-17 much complete a Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Volunteer Waiver Form with signed parental consent prior to participating. Safety vest, gloves, garbage bags, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers should meet at Stillhouse Road, Newberry Township, north of Goldsboro Borough, York County at 8AM. Keep York County Beautiful was developed with the support of the York County Commissioners and Penn State Cooperative Extension - York County - West Nile Virus Program. Thomas Smith is the Affiliate Coordinator. Mr. Smith works for the West Nile Virus Program as the program’s Administrator. Cleaning up illegal dumpsites is an effective way to reduce local mosquito concerns and eliminate the need to use pesticides.
