The counselors for the 2013 Multi-County 4-H Horse Camp are getting ready.

In late April, twenty-five commercial wine grape producers and winemakers from Southwestern Pennsylvania gathered for a Penn State Extension field day at Greendance Winery in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County. Viticulture Educators Mark Chien and Andy Muza discussed variety selection, pruning, canopy management, and pest control in the vineyard. During the tour of the wine production facilities, Penn State Enologist Denise Gardner pointed out the challenge of planning for adequate growth of operational facilities as wine production increases. Extension Educator Bob Pollock and horticulture consultant (and retired Extension Educator) Eric Oesterling provided an air blast sprayer demonstration
