Delay in Mid-Atlantic Berry Guide
Posted: January 5, 2012
As I’m sure you all are aware, no matter how long the days are that you work, there are still only 24 hours in a day, and sometimes something has to give. Most of you reading this are aware that there are fewer of us in Extension all the time, though the needs for information and help are no less - if anything, they are greater. Having a couple of new invasive pests recently show up, and wacky weather last year gave us additional problems to try to solve over the past year. The bottom line is that we’re just now beginning to make serious progress on updating the Mid-Atlantic Berry Guide. It will be in print this spring sometime, but won’t be done in time for winter meetings as it has been with the previous revisions. Pesticides tables will be posted on the Web on Penn State’s Vegetable and Small Fruit web site (http://extension.psu.edu/vegetable-fruit) as they are completed. I’ll let you know when those are available. In the meanwhile, you might want to visit that Web site to find out about current announcement, meetings, and other nifty links.
