4-H Horse member Stephanie Koloski and ‘Roxy’. Plan on attending Stephanie’s Beginner’s Luck Novice Horseshow Series.
The Beginner’s Luck Novice Horse Show Series will be held on Saturday, June 16th and Saturday, August 4th at Unity Stables, Montrose. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the show starts at 9:00 a.m.
The Beginner’s Luck Novice Horse Show Series is open to novice riders of all ages in their 1st and 2nd year of showing. The purpose of this series is to provide a safe and fun learning experience for novice riders. When you are new to showing, horse shows can be overwhelming. This series will provide a relaxed show atmosphere where riders will be able to feel comfortable and even ask questions. Also, many helpers will be available for any riders that need assistance.
Grand and Reserve Champion ribbons will be awarded for the series in Levels 1, 2 & 3 English and Western Divisions. You do not have to be present at both shows to qualify for Division Championships. Also at the end of the day for both shows 3 special awards will be given: Most Improved Rider, Best Equitation and Most Game Points.
The series will also feature a $50 added Freestyle Showmanship Class, sponsored by Unity Stables. This class is open to all show participants. Music, costumes, props, etc. are optional. This class will be judged on creativity, entertainment value, and technical showmanship skills. Routines are to be 3 minutes or less.
