The purpose of the Beef Quality Assurance Program is to protect consumer confidence in beef safety and quality. Most of our cattle will enter the human food supply at some point, and the BQA program hopes to make sure all eating experiences are good ones. Remember, we are not just cattle producers, we are food producers!

New Grape Grower Workshop offers an overview of commercial wine grape vineyard development into the second year including vineyard economics and grape marketing, equipment needs, the basics of site selection and preparation, planting and new vine care. With the information you gain from this workshop you are prepared to make a decision about whether or not to plant a vineyard. It provides a foundation upon which you can build your vineyard project if you decide to proceed. Much more learning and experience is needed before the first vine is planted.
Charlie White, Penn State Cooperative Extension, and Mary Barbercheck, Penn State Entomology Department, along with other speakers, will lead participants through exercises related to soil habitat, fertility, use of amendments, nutrient management and using assessments and testing to identify opportunities for improved soil. The information is useful to large-scale production as well as urban and small-acreage farms.
Come learn to identify potato pests - weeds, insects, and diseases, options for managing them. A potato variety trial will also be featured.

Pasture School is a series of 4 evening workshops. Each features a unique pasture consideration. Due to limited space, pre-registration is recommended, but not required. You may register for workshops individually at $15/ night, or all 4 for $40.
The Seed Farm will showcase soil and weed management equipment and techniques for small to medium-scale vegetable producers. Producers will hear from Sara Runkel, Seed Farm Director, what worked best in on-farm trials this year and have time to try out equipment for themselves.
