Regenerating a High-Graded Stand
Unfortunately, many woodlots have been poorly treated at one time or another in the past. "High-grading” and “select cutting" mean taking the best and leaving the rest. Maybe the first time it is done, the woods can remain productive; however, the second time leaves them in bad shape. In this webinar, we will delve more deeply into silviculture and look at how you might, by careful planning and cutting, start a poorly treated woods down the path to recovery. And, if you are thinking about a future harvest, you will learn how better to do it right. Presented by Jim Finley, Ibberson Chair of Forest Management, Penn State School of Forest Resources.
