Penn State visited Potter County to plant a cover crop demonstration plot at Phil Lehman’s Farm in Harrison Valley. Phil has experience planting cover crops after corn silage for both forage and fertility. Join us November 7th to tour the plot at his farm.
A western bean cutworm trap in Potter County has caught record number of moths in Pennsylvania. At this location, the economic threshold for egg masses has not been reached. WBC is a relatively new pest to the area that should be monitored when scouting fields. Any instances of WBC larva as a pest in corn can be reported to Nicole Santangelo, Local Agronomy Educator at (814)274-8540.
