Research Underway at Penn State's Horticulture Farm

Warm season vegetable crops still have several weeks of waiting to be planted in central Pennsylvania fields but Penn State researchers are still busy with field work.

Penn State horticulture extension specialist Dr. Mike Orzolek has been conducting a sweet Spanish onion variety trial for several years at The Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research farm at Rock Springs, about 10 miles southwest of University Park.  The variety 'Candy' has been used as the standard.
