Posted: September 5, 2012
The OFRF was founded in 1990 with the vision that organic farming will be the leading form of agriculture in America. It cultivates organic research, education, and federal policy that brings more farmers and acreage into organic production.
One of the most recent developments by the OFRF is a new website created for organic farmers at < http://ofrf.org >.
The site is loaded with useful information on organic research, farming policy and education including:
• Organic Science Fridays feature (under the research tab). The most recent posts include "When 100% Organic Beer Means Organic" and "Five Years Later Scientist Still Thinks Organic Can Feed the World."
• 2012 Organic Land Grant Assessment (under the education tab). This publication reports on an examination of the organic research, education and extension of 72 land grant institutions.
• Organic Farming for Health and Prosperity (on the home page). This publication reports on the benefits that organic agriculture can provide based on a review of scientific literature.
New information is added every month. The site also includes a signup to receive updated e-news.
