The Penn State Extension Integrated Pest Management web site has a Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD) page. This web page contains links to some very good SWD publications, including updated Penn State Fact Sheets on the fruit pest.

The web page also has publications from other institutions that present information on defining characteristics for SWD identification, fruit damage (with numerous photoes), and signs to look for when fruit is infested.  The web address is:  http://extension.psu.edu/ipm/agriculture/fruits/spotted-wing-drisophila

Also, a quick update on SWD status in the state…  In general, populations seem to be dropping off a little – perhaps due to cold temperatures early in the month.  I'm sure no one is disappointed, though crops are pretty much past helping by now if you had SWD issues, unfortunately.
