Improving Weed and Insect Management in Organic Reduced-Tillage Systems

The overall goal is to develop sustainable reduced-tillage organic feed grain production systems that integrate pest and soil management practices to overcome production constraints associated with high residue, reduced-tillage environments. Components of the experiment are being investigated on six organic farms in three states to determine performance and farmer acceptability. Outreach programs and materials will be developed and delivered to a broad audience by the project team and farmer cooperators. Funded by USDA OREI, 10/2009 to 9/2013.
