Double Cropping with Fall Manure Different fall manure management strategies can increase the availability of nutrients for harvested crops and reduce losses to the environment. This talk will discuss benefits and tradeoffs of different methods and timing of manure application that can optimize manure-N use.
Crediting N Supply from Cover Crops and Soil Organic Matter Decomposition of soil organic matter, including cover crop residue, can supply N to crops. This talk will describe the biological processes that make N available from decomposing organic matter and introduce a set of equations that are being calibrated in Pennsylvania to predict the amount of N supplied to corn from cover crops and soil organic matter.
This series features 3, hour-long webinars that will include two separate speakers each day. Join the live webinars from 12 to 1 pm on February 6th, 13th and 20th.
