Cucumber
Initial harvest data seemed to show differences in yield between windward and leeward rows. However due to the prolific plant growth it was difficult to differentiate between the rows.
Garlic
Growing garlic in a tunnel environment proved successful. One of the benefits of growing under the tunnel environment, would be the reduced fluctuation in temperatures leading to decreased thawing and freezing of the ground.
Lettuce
Plants growing in the earth boxes grew significantly faster than plants in either bare ground or paper mulch treatments.
Tomato
During the season, all varieties grew well and achieved relatively good yields.
Miscellaneous
Use of raised beds with plastic mulch and drip irrigation for the production of vegetable and small fruit crops will result in higher crop yields and quality compared to bare ground culture.
