Workshop Topics

The training provides a comprehensive overview of the equine industry in Pennsylvania and is designed to help nutrient management specialists become more effective in working with the managers of equine operations. The workshop will cover equine behavior and health considerations that influence BMP selection and implementation.

Additional topics include:

  • Grazing management for horses
  • Weed control
  • Fencing considerations
  • Manure management concerns


Registration is required for all Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Specialist Certification trainings.  Walk-ins will not be accepted.  Registration closes one week prior to the training date.

All registrations must be made through the PAPlants. Guidelines for using PAPlants are outlined in the PAPlants User Guide.
