The Washington County Children’s Garden
The Washington County Children’s Garden is a public garden designed for children to
discover, explore and learn about their natural world. The garden consists of many
raised beds and each one has a theme, many based on children’s books. There is a
Mr. McGregor’s garden, pollinator garden, animal garden, butterfly garden, music garden, pizza garden, and more! The 4-H program uses the garden for "Harvest 4-Health". Children help plant the garden in May, and are encouraged to dig and help care for plants throughout the season. Children’s Garden Workshops are offered on site throughout the growing season. Workshops are designed for children of all ages as an introduction to the joys of gardening and the natural world. We are happy to host a program for your children’s youth, or school group at the Washington County Children’s Garden! Please call the Washington County Cooperative Extension office at 724-228-6881 to make arrangements through our Master Gardener program.
