The Penn State Master Gardeners in Susquehanna County have had the one of their busiest program years ever! There are 18 active Master Gardeners in Susquehanna County each working hard to educate and help people experience the joy and satisfaction with their gardening endeavors, all while learning and having access to researched based horticulture information through Penn State.
The 4-H Community Gardens located at the Penn State Extension office at Chenango Street in Montrose have been planted! The Susquehanna County 4-H program, through the generosity of the Montrose Rotary Club, was awarded a grant to begin the gardens!
Pickerings Farm, Home and Garden, Thompson recently hosted its first annual “Taste of Country Checkerboard Field Day”. Visitors had the opportunity to visit with vendors, listen to educational programs with the Penn State Master Gardeners, and partake in some delicious food and treats provided by Faith Mountain Christian Academy, New Milford.
